Paul Tan FCCA (UK), MBA (University of Birmingham, UK), CPA (Singapore), MSID Managing Partner of Tan, Teo & Partners Lecturer of Singapore Taxation Series PAUL TAN holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He is a practicing member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) since 1995. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) since 1996. He is also a Member of the Singapore Professional Centre since 1998. In addition, on 8 October 2002, he is also admitted as a full member of the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID). He is the Managing Partner of a Certified Public Accounting firm, since 1995. Prior to being a partner, he has extensive auditing experience working as an auditor in public accounting firms and a 2-year stint as the internal auditor of a Singapore public listed company. He serves in the Board of a Singapore public listed company as an independent director since 2002. Besides professional auditing experience, he is also active in academia. He has been regularly giving lectures and seminars in areas of finance and business since 1991 at various educational institutions and private organizations including Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) and Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS). His lecturing specialisation is in the area of Singapore Taxation for academic qualifications (graduate and post graduate level), professional qualifications and for general practice. For his commitment and contributions as a lecturer at ICPAS since 1995, he was honored with a Service Award (Silver) in 2001. He has also contributed articles related to Singapore taxation in journals such as the “Asian Entrepreneur” and “The Contractor – Official Publication of the Singapore Contractors Association Limited” On the community service front, Paul also serves in committees in ICPAS and ACCA. Being a trained and accredited mediator of the Consumer Association of Singapore (CASE) mediation panel, he has successfully mediated many matters on behalf of CASE. |
